Brewing Tips

According to the Specialty Coffee Association of America (2017), Coffee freshness, Water quality / Ratio of Coffee to Water, & Grind are the most important factor when preparing a great cup of coffee!

Coffee Freshness

Coffee freshness is NOT an issue with us since:

•We are sourced from a reliable importer - Balzac Brothers LLC

•Our beans are specialty grade

•Your coffee was roasted within days of your order and is NOT older that 30 days.

Water Quality

Water quality is arguably the most important variable that effects the quality of your cup since 99% of your coffee is actually water.

For most people, use of cold bottled water is the easiest (but not optimal) way to deal with the issue. Testing your water and more importantly what to do with your results, is complicated at best. Email us if you have questions.

Coffee to Water Ratio

According to the National Coffee Association of America (2017), "A general guideline is called the "Golden Ratio" - one to two tablespoons of ground coffee for every six fl ounces of water. This can be adjusted to suit individual taste preferences.

What is Swiss Water process for decaffeinated coffee?

Swiss Water® Process uses the elements of water, temperature and time to create some of the most intriguing decaf coffee. First, they start with small batches of amazing coffee and green coffee extract. Then they add local water and  monitor the time and temperature until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine free. See how it is done with the link below.
